Drinking a glass of fresh
lemonade is probably one of the best things to do in a hot sunny day. Okay I
get it. It isn’t summer yet and in some area is probably still too cold to
even drink cold water, but definitely not here. Living in a tropical country
makes almost every single day throughout the year is a hot sunny day, which
means it always a perfect time to drink lemonade.
Despite the freshness, lemon
itself is a super-fruit. This fruit has so many benefits, from consuming to
cleaning. These past couple years, my
mom always make me drink a glass of lemon water first thing in the morning. She
told me that it has good effect for the stomach, and I think it kinda works out
for me.
When I am at home it’s very nice
to make everything by myself instead of buying things outside, including a
glass of lemonade. Besides cheaper, you can also make your homemade lemonade so
much healthier than the one you buy at the store. You can substitute the
regular liquid sugar with honey or any other type of healthy sweetener that is
available at the store. Also, it would take no time to make it. Within 5
minutes and with only three main ingredients you can have your own fresh homemade
lemonade.
So here’s my very simple homemade lemonade recipe:
Ingredients:
- A lemon
- Liquid sugar
- Water
- Ice cubes
1. Squeeze
the lemon
Cut the lemon
into half. Squeeze half of the lemon and pour the lemon juice in a glass. You
can use a lemon juicer or just simply use your hand, but make sure it’s clean,
tho. Plus, make sure that you get the last drip of the juice. You don’t want to
make it wasted, right?
2. Add liquid sugar and water
Pour a table-spoon
of liquid sugar to the glass. At this part, you can use any liquid sugar or you
can also make simple syrup by dissolving a table-spoon of white sugar with
three table-spoons of hot water. And then, pour more cold water to the glass.
Cut the remaining
half of the lemon into slices and Put them to the glass to make it more refreshing.
Last touché; Put some ice cubes to the glass.
This recipe is my usual trick
when I want to make just a single glass of lemonade. However, you can multiply
the ingredients and use an infused pitcher-or any regular pitcher- to make a
bigger portion and chill them in your fridge for later.
There you go. You have a glass of
super refreshing lemonade to brighten up your days.
You are welcome everybody.
