Come Home
a story by aridafyasmin
"Anna, where do you go?"
"It's none of your damn business", you said with your depressed voice.
That's all. You slammed the door right in front of my face and gone. By the way, It's not the first time. Since our parents gone, it is all started.
One day you left. You looked so upset that day. I know you've been crying all day. I can see it in your eyes. When I ask, "Are you okay?" and "leave me alone" is all I got. But you know, I'm not giving up.
It's 2 a.m and you're not coming home. I can't sleep of course. I can't even look at the window without worrying about you.
I know that day is different from any other day.
My phone is ringing. You called me that night. I couldn't hear what you're saying cause your voice swallowed in tears.
My heart beat so fast. I ran out, grabbed my key and drove as fast as I can. Every worst scene comes in my head.
I catch my breath the time I saw you held your knee beside the street, and you're still crying.
I ran into you and held you tight. We both crying that night.
My voice dropped to a whisper, "Let's go home."
Just like I said before, it happens all the time.
You will go eventually, and I just need you to know
that I'll be right here next by the door,
waiting you to come home.
